South Dakota: online casino, sweepstakes and sports betting law

Deadwood is where legal gambling happens in South Dakota. Apart from gaming in its licensed establishments and the state lottery, SDCL 22-25-1 treats gambling as a Class 2 misdemeanor, and sports bets can be placed only on site in Deadwood. The South Dakota Lottery runs under chapter 42-7A. We found no law that allows online casino games, and none that bans sweepstakes casinos.
