Maine: online casino, sweepstakes and sports betting law

Maine is waiting on its first online casino. A January 2026 law opened online casino gaming to the Wabanaki Nations, but the Gambling Control Unit has no operator on its list so far. Online sweepstakes games are now outlawed under LD 2007. Sports betting is up and running with three licensed operators: DraftKings, Caesars Sports Book and Oxford Casino-Hotel & Sports Book.

Legal, not live yet

Legal but not live. LD 1164 (Public Law 2025, c.538) lets the Wabanaki Nations run online casinos. It became law on 11 Jan 2026, unsigned by the governor. No online casino operator appears on the Gambling Control Unit's lists, so none is live.
